Tim Friday

Flowing water always has fascinated Tim. He first fell in love with river running in 1983 right after high school, working as a river guide on the Youghiogheny and Cheat Rivers in PA and WV.  Summers between college years were filled with days on the water and led to a lifelong passion for kayaking. Tim moved to Colorado in 2005 and started boating more seriously again after a 10-year hiatus. His favorite rivers are Clear Creek, Bailey, and the Arkansas in Buena Vista, but he'll boat anywhere! He loved Ecuador!

Tim took an interest in the access and conservation role for CW after watching the initial segments of the Peaks to Plains Trail being constructed along Clear Creek.  Recognizing the impact of this project to accessing Clear Creek from a paddler’s perspective, he got involved in the project and became a CW board member in November 2016. Tim now serves as the CW representative in stakeholder meetings regarding the Peaks to Plains Trail project as wells as several other projects, programs and other stakeholder groups associated with river access and conservation.
