The Peaks to Plains Trail
by Tim Friday

Anyone who has boated Clear Creek in Clear Creek and/or Jefferson Counties in the last two years probably has seen the paved trail being constructed along the creek between Idaho Springs and Mayhem Gulch. This is part of the Peaks to Plains Trail, a sixty-five-mile off-highway opportunity to travel along Clear Creek from the Continental Divide at the Eisenhower Tunnel to the confluence of the South Platte River in Adams County. Come Mingle at our Annual Fall Dinner & Elections - Nov. 2nd

CW’s annual meeting will be called to order on November 2 at 6:00 p.m. at the American Mountaineering Center in Golden in conjunction with the Fall Dinner. We will elect our 2016/2017 board of directors and complete any club business during the course of the evening. Scot Grossman, Jefferson County Open Space Special Projects Coordinator, will give a short presentation on the Peaks the Plains Trail project. Sign up here.

Board Nominations

CW is accepting nominations for positions on our board of directors. Every position on the board is considered “open,” and you are encouraged to nominate someone (including yourself)! CW is 100% volunteer powered, and we depend on our members’ energy and effort in everything we do. If you would like to nominate someone or if you have questions regarding board duties, please send an e-mail to President Elizabeth Austen: EAusten@live.com.

Thank You 2016 Volunteers!

We'd like to thank all of our 2016 volunteers for making an impact on the success of Colorado Whitewater. To show our appreciation, we invite you to a Volunteer Happy Hour to enjoy free beers, appetizers, and a special thank-you gift.

If you volunteered this year, then you should have received an e-mail with the details of the event. Contact Karen if you have any questions.
