The 7th Annual Royal Gorge Whitewater Festival (RGWF) features kayak, stand up paddle board, raft, and river board competitions along with other events to promote the outdoors and an active lifestyle.  The Arkansas River roars through the Royal Gorge and immediately enters Cañon City.  The Whitewater Park is in the western portion of Cañon City, just a little over a mile from the end of the Royal Gorge.  The RGWF celebrates the Arkansas River and highlights the many recreational opportunities it presents.

Not only will you enjoy the festival event but there is plenty of food, beer, vendors, and entertainment for the entire family in Centennial Park.  All of the money raised goes towards continued expansion of the Whitewater Park, river restoration, and charitable causes.  It is the biggest party of the summer in Cañon City and one not to be missed.  It's all about "Boats, Bands, and Beer!"  What is a summer festival without all three.

Plus, Colorado Whitewater is a proud sponsor of RGWF and will have a booth set up at the event. Stop by the booth and show your support! We're also the event sponsor of the Expression Session on Friday at 5:30pm, and encourage you to compete for your chance to win some prizes. Or register to compete in other whitewater events

No dogs allowed at the event. Admission is $5, but if you compete in any events or volunteer at the CW booth, then admission is free.

If you'd like to camp with other CW members, we'll be at the Royal Gorge Park. It's free with beautiful views of Cañon City and the Royal Gorge. On Sunday, we can paddle Parkdale, mountain bike or visit the hot springs. Contact Jodi Lee if you'd like more information.
