    Cruises:

Organized cruises will be offered for the Filter Plant run, a fun Class II+ run near the mouth of the canyon on Saturday and Sunday.  Register as "Excited beginner" to sign up as a cruise participant, or "Selfless volunteer" to help lead or sweep.  We will meet for the beginner cruises on Filter Plant at the Picnic Rock takeout at 9:00 am.

    Map to Picnic Rock

I will ask volunteers to commit to one day only, and typically you will have time for another run after leading/sweeping your Filter Plant cruise.

Anyone interested in runs other than the Filter Plant can organize at the meeting location or at camp.

    Camping:

Sites 46-56 and the overflow camping have been reserved for CW at the KOA Campground for Friday and Saturday nights (June 23rd & 24th).  The KOA campground is across from Ted's Place at the mouth of the Poudre canyon; turn right (east) off of 287 0.3 miles north of Ted's Place (where the divided highway ends).  Camping is $15/person per night, kids under 5 free. Cabins are available, as are RV hookups.

Friends owe it to friends to be capable of river rescue.  Kayakers must be of Class II-III ability. Rescue lifejackets are considered personal equipment and are highly recommended. This clinic qualifies as an ACA sanctioned course.

    • Blue River
This cruise will be  held on the Lower Blue section (III) of the Blue River near Sliverthorne, Colorado.  Contact Dick Alweis to sign up or for more information.

    Description: (From American Whitewater) :

Green Mountain Canyon is dam powered. The rapids are all Class III pool drop or boulder piles. Most of the rapids are fairly short but a few can be long and are unpleasant to swim. The last drop after leaving the shadow of Green Mountain is a stair stepping flume on the left with a small hole. This is a gentle whitewater run for most Colorado boaters.
